Despite the name, ‘German Hill’ isn’t particularly German at all. It earned its title from the blunt local assumption that any European accent must surely be German - when rather it was Inglewood’s influx of Prussian/Polish immigrants settling there in the area in the late 1800s. Close enough, right?

Nestled just outside of Inglewood, the volcanic mound originally known as Atoa Iwa had previously served as a perfect kāinga for local iwi, giving commanding views of the surrounding land. It also boasted several clean, bubbling springs of water known for its excellent mineral composition.

Raise a stein and give a mighty Prost to this beer, brewed with traditional German malt and hops, with inspiration taken from the pure, fresh springs of German Hill.
