This original Russian Imperial Stout was first created to impress an actual Russian Czar… and you know how those guys don’t like to be disappointed. High hopping was used to balance the malt and survive the journey from the English breweries to St. Petersburg. The VDBCK version still packs a punch, but is softened with the aristocratic tenderness of velvet raspberries.
