It was once a royal privilege to make wheat beer in Germany, as the use of wheat was strictly prohibited under the Reinheitsgebot brewing laws. Only certain royal families were permitted to do so. It was certainly a regal affair, crafting this traditional German wheat beer using Bavarian yeast to deliver aromatic, spicy clove and banana aromas atop a bready, pillowy, and soft body of malted wheat and pilsner malts.
